Why you should consider providing transportation for your guests on your wedding day

You want your wedding day to run as smoothly as possible with very few hiccups. By hiring transportation for your guests, it guarantees that your guests will arrive on time, removes the uncertainty of parking and traffic for everyone, and allows everyone to stay safe (think no DD needed - woo!).

Peace of mind and less for you to figure out

Transportation companies will handle all the logistics, and ensure your guests will arrive to your ceremony on time. They will factor in loading and unloading, potential traffic or weather delays, and more. They are professional people movers and will be a great resource for you!

Flexible timing and more control over the day

Take the guesswork out of it and control when your guests arrive! Without guest transportation, you run the risk of having latecomers disrupting the ceremony. Parking at the ceremony venue or the reception venue could be a delay that your guests may not account for, resulting in tardiness and more disruption.

At the end of the night, the shuttles can leave in waves back to the hotel so the older guests can retire for the night, while the party animals can keep dancing the night away. Here's a sample of what your timeline would look like:

6:00 Dinner

7:00 Speeches

7:30 Dance floor is open

9:00 First shuttle

10:00 Second shuttle

11:00 Grand exit and last shuttle

Safety first

While rideshare is becoming a very popular option for wedding attendees, not all venues in Colorado are accessible to rideshare services. Many of our mountain venues are rural enough that they aren't covered on the apps. When you've got a shuttle, all of your guests can enjoy the celebration and not have the stress of finding a ride back to their hotel at the end of the night. It will take the responsibility off of designated drivers, and allow all of your guests to enjoy the night.

Simpler for everyone

Offering guest transportation will help alleviate some of the stress that your out-of-town guests may be feeling and will simplify the questions that they are asking you. You can even offer a few different pick up locations to get the most amount of guests on the shuttle at a time.

Ok, I'm convinced. Now what do I do?

One of the best and most affordable places to find transportation bookings is BusBank. This website offers transportation for all types of events, including weddings, and has many different shuttle options to choose from. They offer party buses, school buses, mini buses, stretch limousines, motor coach shuttles, and many more. They have rentals all over North America. This company also offers different types of rental contracts. They have one-way rentals, round trips, or hourly.

The average bus and limousine rental cost vary greatly based on your needs. Costs are determined by the type of vehicle you rent and the number of hours you have it reserved for. Average couples will spend around $750 on wedding day transportation. Some other costs to factor in and to keep in mind would be tips and sales tax (depends on what state you are in). A 15-20% tip is usually included in the contract you sign with company, if not, you should be prepared to include a $20 tip for the driver/drivers. There are ways to save money while considering booking guest transportation. Consider your proximity. Think about how close your ceremony, reception, and hotels are to each other. The closer they are, the less travel time and hours you will need to pay for. If your ceremony is in the same place as your reception, that can limit the cost greatly by only needing shuttles to and from the hotels. Keep in mind that you do not have to book transportation for every single guest you have in attendance. Booking large transportation such as party buses, trolleys, school buses, or limos will fit large amounts of people and limit the cost.

Happy planning!
