I get this question ALL the time. Our industry does not make it easy to understand the difference between a PLANNER and a COORDINATOR. So today, I'm going to break it down for you and provide some tips on how to decide which is right for you.
Wedding Coordinator
A wedding coordinator is the best fit for couples who have the vision, resources and excitement to plan the majority of their wedding but need a professional to step in prior to the event to execute all of these plans. With this approach, you can be fully hands on during the early stages and then have the peace of mind to hand everything over when it's time. Another name for this you may hear is "day of coordinator" or "month of coordinator".
Wedding Planner
A wedding planner is the best fit for a couple who has a vision, but needs help executing all aspects of bringing this vision to life. A wedding planner will be with you from start to finish and plan it all with you!
Give it to me straight... what do I get when I hire a coordinator or a planner?
Here are some solid facts for you. Hiring a full wedding planner is much more "all inclusive" of a service - they will help you with all aspects of the wedding. Hiring a wedding coordinator means that you'll plan most of it yourself but you have a professional there at the end to dot the i's and cross the t's.
At Jillian Jensen Events, we offer Wedding Coordination services instead of full planning services. So if this is what you're looking for here in Colorado, be sure to reach out!
